„HUNTER’S ROOM“ is an art project by German artist MARINA DELLA PREDA in co-operation with the well-known German photographer Oliver Lassen.

The artist created various animal sculptures by combining elements of different animals and thereby creating a fascinating world of mystic creatures. The artist uses materials to create artworks that embody process of change, transcience and renewal. She explores evolution as a precondition for creation and growth.

Della Preda´s sculptures have an individuality and are highly emotional. The artist believes in the beauty of that which is hidden, a mystery that gouges the curiosity that can be found in any creature.

Crafts and high-quality materials are the basis of the art work. Each sculpture is embellished with Swarovski crystals. The objects are photographed outdoors to recreate the intense experience of seeing these animals in their natural habitat and mysterious environment.

All art photography by Oliver Lassen.

“Art comes alive”. The upcoming exhibition combines sculpture, photography, lighting and music in a special and unique presentation concept. The event is an experience with all senses that asks for the full attention
of the spectator.

Concept

“We need the tonic of wildness…
At the same time that we are earnest to explore and learn all things, We require that all things be mysterious and unexplorable, that land and sea be indefinitely wild, unsurveyed and unfathomed by us because unfathomable.
We can never have enough of nature.”

Henry David Thoreau, Walden

The concept and style of the exhibition place the visitor in the role of hunter and observer. The visitor is captured by the mystery that surrounds nature while observing the animals in their natural environment.

A dark and intimate exhibition room prompts visitors to be discreet and quiet as they move about - just as they would when moving through the underbrush of a forest they enter for the first time.

The animals seem to appear out of nowhere while the visitor experiences moments of reflection and tranquility. Spotlights create a unique ambience showcasing objects in the room and refracting light within the crystals. To make the visit even more meaningful, a series of spherical, earthy and fascinating sounds and scents characteristic of the woodlands enhances the experience. The exhibition is to be absorbed rather than merely observed.

Crystals

„It is not the question,if there are other worlds.
The question is: How many?“

Up to 50,000 Swarovski crystals reflect the light on the sculptures in all spectrum facets, creating a unique presence for each piece.

The crystals bring these graceful and powerful creations to life, a visible reality of dream and phantasy.

The exhibition forms a unique bond between today’s world, our imagination and the values of tradition by preserving the identity of these imaginary creatures.

It is a reflection of the beauty of nature and our obligation to preserve it.

LIFE, DEATH AND REBIRTH ARE SHARED BY ALL - THEY ARE INEVITABLE FOR EVERY CREATURE.

The sculptures are recreations of animal trophies that could exist in a phantasy world or in earlier times. Every sculpture derives from a clearly recognizable original species, but has additional features that tells it apart from everything mankind knows or has seen so far.

Therefore HUNTER’S ROOM creates a very distinct atmosphere and context of emotions, as it takes its beholders to another world and introduces them to its graceful and beautiful creatures.

Every creature  has its individual story and heritage, making all of them unique in their existence.
